Vince Farnsworth
About
Since moving to Montrose, Vince has concentrated his efforts on photographing the Black Canyon and the landscapes of southwestern Colorado. He has written a book on how to photograph the Black Canyon entitled, “Getting Up Early, the Visitors Guide to Photographing the Black Canyon.” Most recently, he has been capturing images of the night sky above the landscape in panorama, a very challenging and rewarding pursuit. “I’m looking for a different take on some of the more iconic locations.
Creative photography is all about seeing things in a unique way and conveying that vision to an audience.” His work is available at the Farnsworth Gallery at the Montrose Center for the Arts, the Black Canyon Visitors Center, Montrose City Visitors Center and other locations in Montrose.
Farnsworth Scenics was started in Montrose, Colorado, by Vince and Maggie Farnsworth in 2008. Since then we have created many unique and memorable images. Panoramas are a favorite here and a format in which we specialize. We also have a love for the night sky because it contains treasures rarely seen. Long-exposure night time photography brings out the detail and color invisible to the unaided eye. Photographs of the night sky with the landscape are appopriatly called nightscapes. These images can be very special because they convey a sense of place in an unusual way.
