Loretta Casler
About
Loretta’s interest in art began at an early age. Her father was a commercial artist who encouraged her to draw and paint. She graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and worked in the graphic arts industry for 25 years.
Experimenting in a variety of media from watercolor, oil to colored pencil and ink has helped her to learn more and more about painting, composition and color theory. She has studied with numerous nationally known artists and enjoys sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for painting and drawing with her students. Loretta loves exploring many subjects from landscapes to florals to wildlife and enjoys abstraction as well. She enjoys using Free Reference Animal Images for Artists.
She has exhibited in juried and invitational shows for many years. There is a nice collection of ribbons in her studio that encourages her to continue to learn more about art. Loretta teaches privately in her studio, Montrose Center for Arts in Montrose, and is on the Ouray Country Art Association board. Loretta resides north of Ridgway, Colorado with her husband, Dave, where she has a stunning view of Mt. Sneffels.
