Jodine Broscovak
About
Jodine Broscovak began her fifty-year art career in Denver, CO. Schooled in art and graphic design, she is an award-winning artist and watercolor teacher. Jodine is a signature member of the Western Colorado Watercolor Society and founder and former president of the Montrose
Center for Arts.
As an artist, she lives by her mantra: “First Think, Then Plan, and then, Execute!” Jodine enjoys the spontaneity of transparent watercolor and at times, a surprise, but a rewarding happy accident! During her initial planning stage, she refers to her “morgue,” a file holding years of collected pictures and articles from magazine pages, and her own photographs. “Help yourself and pass it on,” she says as she explains the importance of sharing with others learned skills and tips to paint by.
Her subjects are varied with a focus on landscapes for students. She
reminds us that a beautiful landscape is not always a specific place. It can be an imagined creation.
“I thought I could see,” she says, “but through my painting, I have learned to really see what I am looking at!”
