Visual art has the power to move us … to touch our hearts and souls. Art is a multifaceted phenomenon, serving as a reflection of our innermost emotions and the world around us. It evokes feelings, from joy and sorrow to anger and hope, creating a bridge of understanding between diverse groups of people. By transcending languages and cultures, art becomes an invaluable asset in fostering unity and peace.
The Judge
The judge for the exhibit will be Ouida Touchon. She is a visual artist from New Mexico, who now resides in Delta. She owns a charming 1910 bungalow with a carriage house in the back where she spends most of her waking moments at the easel or the press. She holds a BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, and Master of Art from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in studio arts. In addition, she has studied with mentors and distinguished printmakers and painters in Italy, Mexico, and the United States. She is a noted artist who combines traditional forms of printmaking and mixed media, with painting, collage, and embroidery to synthesize a medium all her own. More than a printmaker or painter, she sees herself more essentially as a maker of images.
