What to Expect
This class is intended to help you, as an artist, connect with your creative self by using meditation to quiet the mind and connect with the creative center. During this class you will be creating artwork, engaging in guided meditation, discussion and journaling (journal provided in class fee, bring your own cushion, chairs provided).
Please note this event will be held at the newly renovated Montrose Lions Clubhouse.
Workshop Process: The opening of the class will be a discussion about what you, as an artist, love about the creative process, and what blockers you often come up against. You will be encouraged to share and journal your findings about your own process.
After personally creating one piece of artwork and actively exploring your personal blockers, there will be a guided meditation session that focuses directly on the creative center and intention, with a discussion after to explore how this might be used individually to remove your own blockers.
The class will close with a surprising process that will provide insight into the purpose of meditation and the creative self.
Goal: The goal of this workshop is to send each participant home with tools that will help speed up the process of ‘getting into the creative zone’ more quickly and naturally through meditation. With discussion and reflection each participant should have captured helpful discoveries in their journal to use for future reference, and artwork created through the process to illustrate the results of those discoveries.
