On the shore of Chipeta Lake, explore basic watercolor techniques and apply them to creating sparking watercolor paintings from life on location. A pavilion with picnic tables is on site.
Instructor
Don McFadden is a retired art teacher with a masters degree in art. He taught in the public school system for 35 years. He also taught art classes at Adams State University, Mesa State University, and North Western Community College, along with teaching at The Taos Watercolor Workshop in Taos, New Mexico for a number of years. His work has won awards for both painting and pottery in local shows around the area.

Instructor: Don McFadden
Supplies Needed: Pencil, Basic watercolors including; red yellow, blue, green and brown as a minimum. Watercolor paper in a pad, block, or stretched on a board – 300 lb paper is suggested. Round and flat brushes along with one finer brush like a liner or a rigger. Water container. Drawing board for work. Easel or tripod – suggested. Cushion – suggested.
