On the shore of Chipeta Lake, explore basic watercolor techniques and apply them to creating sparking watercolor paintings from life on location. A pavilion with picnic tables is on site.
Instructor
Don McFadden – I am a retired art teacher with a masters degree in art. I taught in the public school system for 35 years. I have taught art classes at Adams State University, Mesa State University, and North Western Community College. I have also taught at The Taos Watercolor Workshop in Taos, New Mexico for a number of years. My work has won awards for both painting and pottery in local shows around the area.

Class: Plein Air Watercolor Painting at Chipeta Lake
Instructor: Don McFadden
Supplies Needed: Pencil, Basic watercolors including; red yellow, blue, green and brown as a minimum. Watercolor paper in a pad, block, or stretched on a board – 300 lb paper is suggested. Round and flat brushes along with one finer brush like a liner or a rigger. Water container. Drawing board for work. Easel or tripod – suggested. Cushion – suggested.
