In this two-day class for beginning oil painters, you’ll create a still-life painting using time-honored monochromatic underpainting and glazing techniques. Along the way, we’ll cover the basics of painting with oils including discussions of materials and studio safety. Class fee includes a full starter kit: Artist-quality paints, brushes and palette knife, palette and canvas pads, brush cleaner and more – $75 value. Note: Gamsol odorless mineral spirits will be provided for use in class. Please do not bring any other solvents.
Instructor
Jean paints primarily in oils and pastels, creating images of the world around her, as well as abstract landscapes and other subjects. She began seriously painting while raising a family and working in Massachusetts and coastal Maine. She has studied with nationally-known artists including David and Pam Lussier, Pamela Dulong Williams, and Lisa Regopoulos.
