Monday Morning Paint Group

The Monday Morning Paint group is open to all MCA members, and is an unstructured gathering for artists who want to work in a friendly, helpful atmosphere.

As one MCA member said, “Artists who work in any medium, any skill level, any person, is welcome. We give advice when asked and praise at all times.“

It meets every Monday (except holidays) from 9 a.m. – 12 noon in the first floor Fellowship Hall of Hillcrest Congregational United Church of Christ, 611 S. Hillcrest, Montrose. There is no cost for MCA members.

History

Historically, this group originated long before Montrose Center for Arts became a reality. It started with a group of artists who banded together once a week to work on painting, drawing and other art techniques while sipping coffee and enjoying one another’s company.

They joined and supported MCA and continued to meet weekly at the former Park Avenue gallery. Friendship and art projects continued, and new artist friends joined, even as MCA no longer had space to host the group.

Still supporting MCA, but meeting offsite, Monday Morning Paint continues to offer artists encouragement and support and a time dedicated to pursuing their preferred styles and projects.
