2025 MCA Youth Art Locker Program a Success!

Even though the initial announcement for the 2025 applications wasn’t sent until December 1, 2025, the inaugural MCA Youth Art Locker (MCA YAL) program was a great success! We received 8 applications from local Montrose schools and a total of $1241 worth of art supplies was purchased. These supplies were delivered to the participating classrooms to be used in encouraging the exploration of the arts by the youth of our community.

Due to the end of year, the 2025 program was advertised to public schools within the Montrose County School district. For 2026, the program is available to public and private schools as well as agencies that work with youth and can demonstrate a need for art supplies.

Requests for MCA YAL monies are limited to $150 per art educator/program per calendar year via an easy online application. The planned 2026 budget amount for the program is $3,000. Applications are accepted at any time throughout the year with a minimum request of $50. Multiple requests at different times are allowed, but all requests will count toward the $150 per educator/program annual amount.
