The Montrose Center for Arts is hosting a show for two of our talented MCA artists in the month of November: Julia Reid and Bonnie Bucknam.
The show reception is Thursday, November 13th, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. All are welcomed.
Julia Reid: ” I’ve explored the creative process throughout my life. The real joy comes from mark making, whether creating realism or abstract. It’s what brings life and energy into the art. I primarily use oil and cold wax. I’ve found there’s a broad spectrum of mixed media that works well with this process and creates depth, transparency, texture and vibrancy.“
Bonnie Bucknam – Bucknam draws on her degrees in anthropology and geology to create abstract quilts informed by nature and her fascination with other peoples and cultures. Her abstract compositions are most often inspired by the colors and shapes of the natural world. While Bonnie is well known for her quilts, the work in this exhibit will be her oil paintings, celebrating her style and grace.
Both artists are respected in their field, and MCA is proud and happy to put the spotlight on their work. This show is meant for those who seek artwork that is a true expression of artistic verve.
