Join us for a joyful holiday fundraising event for the Montrose Center for Arts from December 2nd – Jan 3rd – just in time for holiday gift buying! Original paintings, jewelry, pottery, wood art, fabric art, all kinds of unique, one-of-a-kind artwork reasonably priced and ready for you to take home.

Artists Marketplace

The artists For MCA will be offering original artwork as an array of wonderful gifts ideas! Jewelry, pottery, paintings, prints, and other special pieces that will bring a smile to your special someone. Proceeds benefits our talented artists, and MCA.

Silent Auction

If you’re tired of giving the same old gifts every year, or you are looking for that really unique gift idea for a special someone – do not miss our Holiday Auction. MCA artists will be creating original artwork for you to bid on and take home! You will be pleased and excited by the selection of original art pieces, unique and Colorado made! All proceeds benefits Montrose Center for Arts supporting the arts in our community.

Call for Artists

“The Gift of Fine Art” – Fundraiser Event for MCA

MCA Artists will brighten the season with their offerings of fine art pieces for the holidays, making perfect gifts for family and friends.

This means all artists – painters, woodworkers/turners, photographers, potters, metal and glass workers, etc. 

Timeline
September 27: Blank Canvas Available for Pickup
November 15 – 25: Art Drop Off
December 1: Install Date
December 2: Reception Date, 5 – 7 p.m.
December 19: Silent Auction Ends
December 20: Winners notified and begin pickup
January 3: Take down and pickup of unsold items
 
Requirements

  • Silent Auction Fundraiser exhibition for MCA
  • MCA will have 8 x 8 canvas and cradle boards available depending on your medium
  • Canvas can be picked up at the desk starting Sept 27
  • Finished/painted edges, ready to hang
  • Don’t sign your painting on the front
  • Limit up to 3 submissions per artist
  • Unsold items to be picked up after Jan. 3 or become property of MCA for future sale ($30 sale price after the event)
  • No commission, your submission is a donation to MCA

Note: We are asking all artists (any artist not just MCA artists) who work in any medium to donate one item for the silent auction. Your donation of artwork does not need to be of your creation. If you have a piece of art you want to donate from your collection, feel free to let us find a new home for it! If you have any questions, please contact us before making your donation.

Silent Auction Details:
Starting bid $30 for 8×8 paintings (gallery coordinator will help set bid prices for other items), last day to bid 12/19
Winners can begin picking up items 12/20

“Holiday Marketplace of Art”
 
Art makes amazing gifts for the holidays. The members’ rooms will have a display of wall print above four tables that will showcase other mediums (jewelry, cards, pottery, woodwork, etc.)

Timeline
November 10: Entry due date (tables only) – email to

November 12: Artists notification of acceptance
November 15: Wall art drop off
November 16: Hang Wall art
November 17: Table art/items drop off and install from 2 – 5 p.m.
December 2: Reception 5 – 7 p.m.
January 10: Pick up any art not sold
 
Requirements

  • Must be a member to contribute to the d Member Rooms, and Marketplace.
  • Wall and table fees are waived for this show.
  • Everything has to have our barcodes, which will be generated on dropoff day.
  • MCA takes a 30% commission as part of our fundraiser.
  • The Gallery Team will jury in on a variety of products. 
  • If you already have marketplace items in the gallery those items can stay.
  • Every item MUST have a tag for a barcode or some place on your product for a barcode sticker.
  • Art has to be handmade by artists.  Nothing manufactured will be allowed.

Art Requirements
There are 8 table spaces 18 x 36 inches available – juried

  • The wall art must be 30 inches or less on the longest side including frame
  • Table displays no taller than 24 inches high
  • Wall artists can submit up to 3 pieces with the limited size above.
  • Bin prints need to be part of your display. No floor standing bin print holders.
  • We recommend that each artist leave a small stack of business cards on their section of table. 
  • Signage is okay on table displays so long as it fits in allotted space.
  • Artists can NOT restock on their own due to the barcode.

Restocking
The Gallery Team will restock once per week throughout the show. They will notify artists when restock is needed. The artists can NOT restock on their own due to the barcode.

Volunteer Requirement
In lieu of wall space fees, we hope artists will volunteer to be there at one of the following events: November 29 (Small business Saturday), December 2 for Reception, or on December 13 and December 20 (all marketplaces vendors should check in on these days to ensure their displays remain full). If you can pop in for a hour one of these days to talk with quests, that would be amazing!

Part of our mission at MCA is to engage kids in art. In order to do that, we’d like to have our artists send us a line drawing, no color and not too complicated. The art will be paired with several other artists and a box of crayons or colored pencils and packaged for sale in the MCA Marketplace. 

Details

  • Your line art should be 7.5 inches wide by 5 inches tall
  • Include your bio as well as the answer to one simple question with your submission …When and how did you fall in love with art?
  • Jen created a page of her own, so you can see how the 8.5 x 11 page will look once formatted.
