Demo and hands-on workshop, painting with soft (“chalk”) pastels. During this session, you’ll practice various techniques for panting in this versatile medium.
Instructor
Jean Munro paints primarily in oils and pastels, creating landscapes and other impressions of the world around her. She enjoys working en plein air but also paints in her studio from photographs she takes to capture a particular moment. Her paintings have won recent awards in both Oils and Pastels.
Materials
Students should bring their own SOFT pastel sticks (Contact instructor for soft pastel recommendations: jeanmunroart@gmail.com)
– NO oil pastels and no pan pastels
– *OR* plan to purchase a starter set from the instructor before class begins. $25.00 cash or PayPal
Please bring a table easel if you have one and any reference photos you’d like to use. Optional source photos and all other materials will be provided. Bring snack/lunch/beverage if desired.
