Our area’s budding reputation for art is built on the shoulders of local artists and those who appreciate their work. The Montrose Center for Arts provides a wealth of opportunities for artists to showcase their work and connect with appreciative viewers and buyers.
The History of Montrose Center for Arts
Created in June 2015, Montrose Center for Arts began with a small group of artists and a dream. Meetings were held in available facilities around town, volunteer instructors came forward to teach art classes where space could be found, and the Montrose Community Foundation stepped in as the fiscal sponsor.
Although some called the group “dreamers,” the vision soon became a mission to create a space to promote the excellence of all art forms in the City of Montrose — a community gathering place for all to experience the arts.

Re-Imagine – Let Heart Take Root – an Event to Remember

The Montrose Center for the Arts (MCA) celebrated its grand re-opening on Feb. 12, unveiling a re-imagined space at its new location at 205 E. Main Street where is resides today. Over 300 people from the community showed up to support the center and it’s efforts.
“MCA President Pat Chaloupek was quoted as saying “The vision of Montrose Center for Arts is enabled by dedicated volunteers, talented area artists and community, business and organizational contributors. We are reimagining the look of the Center for Arts. It’s going to be about connectivity. It’s going to be about creativity, and it’s going to be about community.”
This new location is a new beginning for the center, and is expected to bring great things in the future.
