MCA’s Artist Community
Whether you’re a new artist just discovering your style or a seasoned professional looking to expand to a new market, MCA has opportunities to help you grow, create, share, sell your art, and more! One way to join our community is as a Member. While artists do not have to be members, we do offer member-only specials and pricing. If you’d rather start off as a non-member, please contact us.

How to Exhibit in the MCA Gallery
Western Slope Artists may rent gallery wall space to display their work for a monthly fee. Each display’s duration is four months, when the artist may renew or opt-out.
Renewal requires replacement or refreshing of the display for the subsequent four-month period. Reservations can be made with the gallery manager.
While we primarily cater to the Western Slope artist community, we also allow exhibitors from all over the country!
The Gallery also hosts an invited guest artist to exhibit for a one-month period opening with a reception on the First Friday of each month.
How to Sell Art Items in the MCA Gallery and Gift Shop
Artists, MCA welcomes you to submit art items for display and sale.
A review committee will judge submissions subject to artistic creativity, material quality, presentation, and marketability. Reviews are held on the second Monday of the month by appointment.
To apply, artists must complete a digital form with their contact and art submission info, including digital images and pricing. MCA will process each submission, schedule a date for the approved item(s) are to be delivered to MCA, and generate coded labels to place with each item.
All items will be labeled, coded, and priced according to the MCA inventory system.
Gift Shop Artists are expected to replace items as they are sold and keep their inventory refreshed.
MCA will conduct all sales, collect sales tax and pay and report all sales information to the appropriate agencies.
The commission schedule is 70% of the sale to an MCA Member Artist and 60% to non-members.
*Items that have been approved, coded, and added to inventory; shall not be sold outside of MCA. Items on display in our Gallery and Gift Shop must be purchased through MCA, so commissions and inventory remain accurate.*

Use Our Rental Spaces
Montrose Center for Arts welcomes community use of the MCA facility for private events. Our rental spaces are available to any group, individual or organization who conforms to MCA’s policies of inclusivity, diversity and equity and complies with our rental agreement. All events held at MCA must be approved by the Board of Directors.

Montrose Center for Arts is the ideal space for civic and social meetings, parties, receptions, weddings, or any event you want a unique and inviting location. MCA also offers some of the best rental rates in town!
MCA will fulfill requests for private rental events based on the following:
- Availability of facility and/or space
- No potential conflict with other activities
- Fulfillment of necessary requirements: payment of fees, insurance signed contract, etc.
Upon request, we will provide a limited number of tables and chairs at no charge.
Space rental after normal operating hours may be subject to staff charges. Renter is solely responsible for leaving the building in a clean and orderly condition.
Columbine Room
- Subject to availability, the Columbine Room may be rented for meetings.
- Capacity: 12-14 people at seminar tables.
- This room rents for $10 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours rental.
The Main Gallery
- Subject to availability, the Main Gallery may be rented for civic and social events.
- Capacity: 60-70 people in theater seating.
- This room rents for a minimum of 3 hours at $20 per hour to a maximum of 6 hours for $120.
- Multi-day rentals may be negotiated.
The Classroom
- Subject to availability the Classroom may be rented for meetings and seminars.
- Capacity: With Tables: 12-16 people | Theater seating: 24-30 people
- This room rents for $10 an hour with a minimum of 3 hours rental.
Combination Spaces
- Subject to availability, combinations of the Gallery, Columbine Room and/or Classroom may be rented by the hour, day and/or evening.
- Additionally, the full kitchen may be utilized depending upon the event, time, insurance requirements and rental agreement.
